I'm not being fanboy but your expectations of both consoles might need adjustment by the time they launch.

I've yet to find a video of one being used at either Gamescom or PAX by Joe Public. Please prove me wrong somebody. MS had loads of boxes lined up for the public and they even had them in a retail store being demoed.
I've not seen a PS4 yet working/loading/playing or whatever. All ive found is a guy playing driveclub at Gamescom and you cant see the console only the eye and DS4.
My local Blockbuster in the UK is taking preorders of XB1 + Forza 5 free. I spoke to them today although when I asked if it was day one edition they said second day so I would assume this is must mean normal consoles not guaranteed for launch.....
They are also taking preorders for all of the big name games and second controllers etc.

Apparently you can sell/swap the dl codes for the games so maybe I trade.

Still a £40 trade in is good but it does suggest that next gen software will be at a premium high price.

The next Trials game should support this. I had a barrel of laughs with my friends playing 4 player motocross races on a single Xbox. Problem was sometimes there were 5 of us or even more.

I think MS should provide codes to all preorders made before 'holiday' which I assume when stated by an American company would mean Xmas. As a Euro only offer they should run it until Xmas eve.
I really do think a comparable offer should be in place for all USA preorders as I think a lot of gamers there have had their heads turned by PS4.

I don't claim to be an expert at youtube but a few searches have not turned up what I seek. An actual physical PS4 in use and plain to see by gamers at one of the shows running games. All I can see is off screen footage where the DS4 is plugged into an unseen box. Even the killzone booth at pax didnt appear to have any live working consoles.
